Two Armed Civil War Soldiers Possibly from Missouri? 1860s Ambrotype Photo Rifle author and probably one of a1 6 ambrotype in full case.. dates to around 1860 to very early Civil War period, 1861. Inside of the case is writing: "Fred + Shubert" , but no last names. From a collection of 1850s and 1860s photos from Missouri, several by Saint Louis photographers, so I believe it's likely that this image was also taken in or around Saint Louis, the state of Missouri or a neighboring state.. however, a researcher sent the following information, which is
